Wells is a lovely town on the Seacoast of Maine in York County. It features shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean with sandy beaches and rocky outcrops to climb. A place to explore: Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge
The Wells beaches are an obvious answer, but if you are looking for something a little different you should check out the Rachel Carson Nationals Wildlife Refuge. It was established to protect valuable salt marshes and estuaries for migratory birds. Visitors describe the refuge as peaceful, serene, and photo-ready, so don’t forget your camera. The refuge can be walked in less than an hour and features relaxing views and places to stop along the way for photos or a short break.
