Winter in New England: What Activities Are There To Do?

It’s gettin “dahk” here in New England, and winter is coming. As we prepare for the cold and brisk weather, we want to provide you with some activities for you and your family to enjoy, especially with the upcoming holiday season.   • Enjoy the experience and magic of the holidays by walking the Strawbery Banke Candlelight Stroll, watching a Broadway Musical, listening to a carol concert in Market Square, enjoy tax-free shopping in Portsmouth unique downtown shops, and many more activities like a Gingerbread House competition and ice skating at Puddle Duck pond!
• Mount Washington Valley Ice Fest, North Conway, NH
  • Scale frozen waterfalls and ice walls in this fun and thrilling activity!
• The Rink at Thompson’s Point, Portland, ME
  • One of Maine’s newest skating rinks, Thompson’s Point has spectacular views of the Fore River over 10,000 square feet of pristine ice to enjoy. Be sure to look for decorated themed nights, special events, and a two-story tubing hill.
• Lobster Dip - Special Olympics Maine, Old Orchard Beach, ME
  • Join in on this 28 year tradition and thousands of others in an annual Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics. The infamous lobster dip is great for a morning hangover or those who are brave enough!
• Penguin Plunge - Special Olympics New Hampshire, Hampton Beach, NH
  • Just like the one in Maine, be sure to check out New Hampshire’s polar plunge to raise money for Special Olympics.
• Kennebunkport’s Christmas Prelude, Kennebunkport, ME
  • A celebration of Christmas in one of Maine’s most charming seaside villages. Enjoy parades, shopping, and the annual lobster trap tree lighting!
• Snow Tubing at Amesbury Sports Park, Amesbury, MA
  • Try out snow tubing on this jumbo hill with friends and family! A great place to create memories and share laughter.
