Summer on the Seacoast | 2021 Summer Events

There are so many exciting events happening in the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine this summer. Find all the details below!

 

Portsmouth

Prescott Park Arts Festival 

The Prescott Park Arts Festival is back on for 2021! This year’s selected play, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, will run July 9th through August 15th with options for both matinee and evening shows. Camp Encore, a children’s theatre education program, will run from June 28th through August 8th with three sessions for ages 8-18. There is yoga in the park every Wednesday morning through the summer from 7:30am - 8:30pm and The River House Restaurant Concert Series will be announced shortly. Farmer’s Market

The Portsmouth Farmer’s Market takes place every Saturday throughout the summer, rain or shine. The farmer’s market runs from 8:00am - 12:00pm at the Little Harbour School.

Summer in the Street

For Summer in the Street, Pleasant Street from Porter Street to Market Square closes from 4:00pm - 9:30pm on Saturdays during the summer to create pedestrian-friendly areas for musicians, theatrical, and dance companies to perform. It runs Saturday, July 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st.

Market Square Day

Market Square Day celebrates all downtown Portsmouth has to offer. On Saturday, September 18th, most of downtown will close to vehicles from 9am - 4pm to make space for two performance stages for local and regional musicians and 150+ vendors that offer food, products, art, and more. It kicks off with a 10k road race in the morning.

 

Hampton

Nightly Shows at Sea Shell Stage

The nightly shows at Sea Shell Stage began June 11th and will run through early September. All shows are held from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m with a half hour break at 8:00 p.m. All of the shows are free to attend and weather dependent. The entire lineup can be viewed on the Hampton Beach website.

Weekly Fireworks

The weekly fireworks have been delayed for the time due to the nesting of Piping Plovers where they typically go off, but should resume later in June or early July and will run through the end of August. They take place every Wednesday at the top of B and C Streets at 9:30 p.m. The rain date is the following Friday. There are also special fireworks on the weekends of the Fourth of July and Labor Day.

Seafood Fest

Ocean Boulevard will close to traffic September 10th through the 12th for Seafood Fest, an annual beach Seafood Festival in Hampton, NH. There will be local restaurants, 2 stages for entertainment, corn hole tournament, lobster roll eating contest, and more!

Stratham

Thursday Nights at the Park 

Visit Stratham Hill Park every Thursday from 5:00pm to 8:30pm for stone oven pizza, food trucks, and live music!

Gordon Barker Summer Bike Series 2021

Stratham Hill Park is hosting a summer bike series with races on July 22nd, July 29th, August 5th, and August 12th. The course changes each week. The first two races start at 6:30pm, and the second two at 6:00pm due to early sunset. Visit the Facebook event page for more information. 

 

Exeter

2021 Summer Concert Series

The summer concert series runs throughout the summer at Swasey Park. The shows are from 6:00pm - 8:00pm and the full schedule and lineup can be viewed on the Town of Exeter website

Farmer’s Market

The Exeter Farmer’s Market takes place every Thursday throughout the summer, rain or shine. The farmer’s market runs from 2:15pm - 5:30pm at Swasey Park.

 

Kittery

Concerts on the Commons

Every Tuesday from July 13th through August 17th there are free concerts held on the front field of the Kittery Community Center. They run from 6:30pm - 8:00pm, and you can view the full lineup on the Kittery Community Center website

Wednesday Night Movies 

Enjoy a movie on Frisbee Common at the Kittery Community Center every Wednesday from July 14th through August 18th. The movies are all free – check out the schedule now!

Friday Funnies Comedy Series

From July 26th through August 20th there will be comedy shows every Friday evening at the Kittery Community Center on Frisbee Common. Bring your own chairs and snacks. The shows are all free!
